Woohoo! You’ve published a successful blog post that has generated traffic to your website, helped build your SEO, and in turn, attracted high-quality leads to your business. Now what? After dedicating several hours to crafting the perfect blog, don’t let it be just a one-hit-wonder. Give your blog post a new life by repurposing your content for different channels and audiences. With the success that your blog has seen on your website, there’s no doubt that the content will continue to prosper on other platforms. Need ideas on refreshing your blog post and repurposing your content for other channels? Here are 6 creative ways to repurpose your blog content!

1) Social Media Posts

We all know that social media is great for sharing valuable content and communicating with your audience. So, it makes perfect sense to repurpose your blog posts into short-from social media posts. Take this example of our “Take Advantage of Newsletter Marketing” blog, which was repurposed into a social media post to showcase the importance of Newsletter Marketing. It simply recycles the message and main points within the blog into a shorter message on social media. This is an easy and effective way to get more from your blog content, as well as more ideas for your social media feed.

Note – a good strategy to help promote your blog posts on social media is to create a post that includes a sneak-peek into 3 or 4 of the main points that will be discussed within your blog. This will give your audience a preview of the blog content and will encourage them to read your full blog for more information, ultimately, driving traffic to both your blog and your website.

2) Video Content

85% of online users enjoy video content, so turn your blog posts into video clips! Videos are engaging, entertaining, and a great option for re-sharing your content. You can take the main points or subheadings of your blogs and turn them into videos that can also be a part of a larger “Tips & Advice Video Series”. This video series can be posted on social media, your website, or on YouTube, and can act as engaging content pieces for consumers to view and interact with. Additionally, short video clips can be created and turned into Reels on Instagram. Reels must be under 1 minute long and are a great alternative to still graphics on social media.

There are a number of ways in which you can create your video content. You can have a member of your team be the focus of your video and have them speak about the key points of your blog post, or you can create a stock or animated video with either text or a voice-over regarding the main points you would like to feature from your blog content. Either way, make sure that your videos include the most important and relevant information, and that the information is not just read verbatim from the blog post but translated in an organic and authentic way.

3) Lead Magnets

Lead magnets are very effective for both repurposing your blog content and encouraging people to sign-up for your contact / email list. The goal of a lead magnet is to offer something of value to your audience in exchange for their contact information. As the content for your lead magnet will come from your blog post, make sure it includes the most important and valuable content pieces to ensure your audience will want to download. After gathering your content, you will need to design your lead magnet to ensure it is visually appealing and then turn it into a downloadable document that you know will gain traction. Once your downloadable lead magnet has been created, the next step is to create your landing page, contact form, and thank you page. Your landing page will be a web page in which people will receive a snippet of information from your lead magnet, which will then encourage them to fill out the contact form in exchange for the full lead magnet document. It’s critical that your snippet of information on the landing page is of important value to your audience otherwise they will refrain from submitting their contact information and downloading the lead magnet. For example, “The Ultimate Guide to Social Media Management” with a few header points regarding social media strategies will give the audience a sneak peek into the valuable content that the lead magnet will provide them. Both your landing page and your lead magnet should be very engaging and help your audience achieve something. Doing so will increase the likelihood of your audience submitting their contact information to receive the full lead magnet.

In short, turn your blog post into an engaging and visually appealing lead magnet. Grab 3 to 4 of the most important points from your lead magnet and create a landing page to include these points. Include a contact form on your landing page for people to submit their contact information, and lastly, after the contact form has been completed by the viewer, direct them to a “Thank You Page” that will allow them to download the full lead magnet document. This is a great strategy for repurposing your blog post, sharing your content, and attaining the contact information of high quality users.

4) Podcasts

Podcasts are a great alternative for those who prefer to listen to videos over reading long-form blog content. They allow your audience to consume your content while driving, cooking, or working as the audio doesn’t require them to view or read anything. Therefore, creating podcasts surrounding your blog content is an excellent way to get people to consume your content without having to drop everything they are doing. When recording a podcast, make sure that the tone of voice is conversational and flows in an organic way. You don’t want to sound robotic; you want them coming back for more!

5) Slide Show Presentations

If your blog content is of relevance to an upcoming presentation or webinar, you can repurpose your content into a slide show presentation. Take the most important speaking points and create an engaging slide show for your audience to follow along during your presentation / webinar. This will help supplement you as a speaker and will emphasize the main takeaways of the presentation. To continue to repurpose your presentation, record your presentation / webinar as a video and post it on YouTube, your website, or snippets of the video onto social media. The actual slide show can also be a part of an asset library posted on your website. When it comes to slide shows and presentations / webinars, the content can come full circle and be repurposed in a multitude of ways.

6) Make Your Blog Evergreen by Adding New Information

Depending on the topic of your blogs, you may be able to turn your blog posts into evergreen content. Evergreen content is content that remains relevant and important no matter the season or timeframe. For instance, how-to guides, tutorials, and case studies are valuable content pieces that will stand the test of time. They teach your audience how to do something or provide them with important information about a specific topic that can be utilized time and time again. As you learn more information regarding the topic, continue to add that information into your blog post, which will turn it into evergreen content that people can continue to look back to for timeless and valuable information.
